Service Programmatic SEO & GEO

Singapore is a small, mature and heavily regulated healthcare market. Polyclinics, private hospitals and a dense layer of specialist clinics all compete for the same searches, and Google holds medical content to a very high standard. This build was a directory of clinics and specialists designed to enter that market on quality rather than volume.

The Challenge

  • The head terms (private clinics Singapore, specialist doctors Singapore) are dominated by established brands.
  • Searchers ask practical questions: what a GP visit costs, whether a polyclinic or private hospital is faster, how a specialist referral works.
  • A new directory has no authority yet, so every page has to earn trust from the content and the data alone.

The Strategy

1. Intent trees around real Singapore questions

Head terms were private clinics Singapore, specialist doctors Singapore and medical check-up packages SG. Each page answers the questions that sit around them:

  • Cost: "Best GP clinic in Orchard Road cost of consultation"
  • Comparison: "Compare private hospital vs polyclinic waiting times Singapore"
  • Process: "MOH guidelines for specialist referrals Singapore healthcare system"

Pages also cover insurance panel acceptance, clinical specialties and Singapore Medical Council references.

2. A strict quality floor

Any facility rated below 4 stars, or without verifiable Ministry of Health registration, was excluded and 301-redirected to a stronger category page. Titles rotated across five sentence patterns that name real planning areas, such as Novena, Raffles Place and Jurong East. Missing operating hours or contact details show a dash.

3. Named authorship

One author card on every content page ties the directory to an identifiable expert and a consistent entity record.

The Result

Search Console, 8 to 28 October 2026:

Metric Value
Total clicks 7
Total impressions 3,470 (3,185 from Singapore)
Average CTR 0.2%
Average position 58.1 in Singapore

The directory is now visible for almost all of its impressions inside Singapore itself, which is the market it was built for. Impressions trend upward through the three weeks.

What happens next

An average position of 58 is the starting point for a new programmatic build in a market this competitive. The next lever is engagement. Low-quality listings are already removed, so the pages that reach the top 20 first should pull the rest of the cluster with them. Stronger internal links to those pages, plus comparison tables that AI summaries can quote, are the next steps.

How to apply this

  1. Link brand, domain and author to recognised entities with schema, and reference the local regulator.
  2. Group keywords into intent clusters so one template covers the commercial and the practical question.
  3. Set hard filters in the data pipeline and redirect what fails them.
  4. Use short definitions, lists and comparison tables so generative engines can parse the page.
