Enterprise SEO for comparison sites: pages that win this month's rate searches, with no partner offer left live after it expires
I run enterprise SEO for comparison sites and aggregators listing cards, loans, deposits and insurance from Malaysian banks and insurers. Thousands of pages filled from partner feeds, each needing dated figures, clear disclosures and something the bank's own page lacks.

Rate searches carry the month, and a page a month behind drops out
People search best fixed deposit rate malaysia month by month: july, august and september 2026. In the 14 October 2026 results, a single comparison site took six of the nine places, and its promotions post was two days old. On that query, freshness looked like the deciding edge.

Partner copy pasted into templates reads as thin affiliation
Google's spam policies describe thin affiliation as affiliate pages whose product descriptions are copied from the merchant without added value. Every aggregator receives the same copy from the same banks, so pages that add nothing compete with every site carrying it, and can be treated as spam.

An eight-year-old article outranks your card comparison
On 14 October 2026, a 2018 article comparing the comparison sites led the credit card comparison malaysia results, with a money transfer firm's guide second. Card pages from comparison sites came third and fifth.

Should a rate page get a new URL every month?
No. Keep one URL that gathers links and history, and update its title, date and table each month from the ledger. People add the month to the query, so the title carries the current month once its rates are checked. Last month's table moves lower on the same page.
What would beat an old article on a card comparison query?
A page that actually compares. On 14 October 2026 the leader was a 2018 piece about comparison sites, with comparison site card pages third and fifth. A comparison filtering by income, annual fee and category, dated this month, gives searchers a reason to choose it over an old roundup.
Should an ended promotion page be deleted?
No. Keep the URL, mark the offer as ended with its end date, and show current balance transfer offers above it. Searches such as balance transfer malaysia promotion come back every month, and the page that keeps its history keeps its links. Deleting it throws both away and leaves an error where searchers land.
How much work is a home loan rate table that covers every bank?
Each bank publishes base rates and spreads in its own format, and rates move with OPR decisions. Pull them into the ledger with a source and check date per bank, so the table updates in one place. Link each bank rate page as the source for its row.
How it works
Typical agency approach versus Enterprise SEO done properly
Typical: The partner's product copy pasted into every card and loan page.
Done properly: Partner copy kept for the facts, with what the partner page lacks added on top: a calculator, a method note, an editor's test or the comparison itself.
Typical: A rate changed when a partner emails to say it changed.
Done properly: Every rate, fee and end date logged with the feed or page it came from at your bank partners partners, so an expired offer leaves on its end date, not when someone notices.
Typical: One disclosure line in the footer, every listing treated the same.
Done properly: Commission and sponsored notices beside the apply button and the ranking, and a note on how listings are ordered. For plans from insurers sold through a buy button, BNM expects relationship and commission disclosures too.
Audit. I map every page type to the partner fields it displays, count stale dates, copied descriptions and parameter duplicates, and record who ranks for each product and category.
Govern. You agree with partnerships and each partner's compliance contact who signs field changes, how fast expired offers come down and where each disclosure sits.
Build. I build the freshness ledger, the disclosure components and the first product template with its original value block.
Scale. I roll the template across cards, personal loans, deposits and insurance, then the month-stamped rate pages, in Malay as well.
Report. Each month you see applications and approvals from organic pages by product line, taken from partner reports, plus fields past their check date.
When does programmatic SEO help a comparison site, and when does it hurt?
It helps when each page carries something the bank's own page cannot: a comparison, a calculation, a rule applied to the searcher's case. It hurts when templates repeat partner copy, which Google's spam policies call thin affiliation, and at scale it can count as scaled content abuse. Count what each template adds before generating more.
Should a comparison site build a calculator for every bank?
Build one calculator fed by each bank's published rate and terms, and give each bank a page opening it with that bank's figures. People ask for calculators bank by bank and by salary. Show flat and effective rates side by side, with dated inputs.
How many card category pages should a comparison site carry?
One per category searchers type. People split best credit card malaysia into travel, cashback, no annual fee, lounge access, points and miles. Each page draws its cards from the same records by rule, so a card that loses its cashback leaves the page the day its data changes.

Original analysis
On 14 October 2026 the comparison aggregator head query returned company profiles, a 2013 funding story and one agency's price list at two addresses. The two distinct pages I could read mention no partner data feed, no sponsored or affiliate disclosure and no BNM rule.
Will this survive review?
The approval chain, the regulator and what SEO will not promise
Who signs off: SEO or content lead then Partnerships, for partner data and commercial terms then Each partner's compliance team, for approved product wording then Legal, for disclosures and sponsored placements then Data or engineering, for feeds and templates.
Regulators that touch your claims: Bank Negara Malaysia, through the banks and insurers you list.
Constraints on what you can publish
Banks and insurers must ensure their intermediaries use only advertisements they approved (Product Transparency and Disclosure, 13.2), so partner wording goes back to each partner for sign-off.
Where insurance or takaful is bought on your site, insurers must ensure you disclose your relationship with them, the service level including where to complain or claim, and the commission in ringgit and as a percentage (Schedule II, 1.2).
Google treats affiliate pages copied from the merchant without added value as thin affiliation, and asks for paid placements to carry rel sponsored links.
A moneylender may not employ agents or canvassers, and no one may take commission for introducing a borrower to one (Moneylenders Act 1951, section 27A), so a licensed moneylender among your P2P and moneylending partners is listed only once your counsel confirms how it may pay you.
What SEO will not promise
A position for any product, category or rate query
A number of applications, approvals or partner payouts
Legal advice on disclosure. Your counsel and each partner's compliance team decide the wording
This is SEO governance, not legal advice. Your compliance and legal teams decide what you may claim.
Original analysis
Two rulebooks already shape every product page. Google's spam policies call affiliate pages copied from the merchant without added value thin affiliation, and name price information, original reviews, testing and comparisons as the value that counts. BNM's Schedule II asks insurers to make sure aggregators with a buy button disclose the relationship, the service level and the commission in ringgit and as a percentage.
Where should commission disclosure sit on a comparison page?
Next to what it affects: the apply button and the ranking. A footer line hides that a list's order is paid. State how listings are ordered and which are sponsored, and mark paid links rel sponsored, as Google's guidance asks. For insurance sold on the page, BNM's commission breakdown applies too.
Can partner-written articles on your domain count against you?
They can. Google's site reputation policy covers third-party content published on a host mainly to borrow its ranking signals. Partner content itself is not the problem. Publishing it because your domain ranks is. Guides your editors check and date are fine. Advertorials written to rank should be labelled and kept out of the index.
What changes when a comparison site adds a buy button for insurance?
The site becomes a non-direct digital platform under BNM's disclosure policy. Insurers must then make sure you show their name, your relationship, the service level including where to complain or claim, and the commission in ringgit and as a percentage. Medical card pages should also show which panel private hospitals a plan covers.

Monthly organic sessions on a three-axis directory built from zero
Why it applies: One taxonomy drives both the filters families click and the pages Google indexes. A comparison site faces the same choice between filter URLs and category pages, and the same thin-page risk where data is sparse.
Why it applies: Celebshare paid commission on sales attributed across 80+ affiliate domains. A comparison site has the same attribution problem from the other side: its income depends on applications a partner must credit to it.
Data points cleaned and loaded into one interactive query tool
Why it applies: Static reports became a tool clients could filter by the measures they cared about. A comparison table that filters by income, fee and rate does the same for applicants, and offers something the partner page does not.
Assistant citations verified against the exact listing ID
Why it applies: Assistants sometimes return plausible but broken links, so only exact matches were counted. A comparison site needs the same check when an assistant quotes a card: does it name your current page and rate, or an old copy?
Why it applies: Its own vs page against the category incumbent met buyers in the act of choosing. Head-to-head pages between two named cards or loans meet that same moment on a comparison site.
Search variations one destination guide was written to cover
Why it applies: One guide on a high-authority publisher ranked first for years by covering the many ways people phrase the search. A category comparison does the same job, and holds it only while its figures stay current.
How should you answer how comparison sites make money?
On your own site, in plain words: who pays you, for what (a click, an application or an approval) and whether payment changes the order of a list. A clear page settles that doubt on your domain instead of on a forum.
What makes a card review credible when you earn from the card?
Work the bank's page cannot show. Google names original reviews and rigorous testing as what good affiliate pages add. State how each card was assessed, what was tested, the date and that the issuer pays you. Restating the card's features adds nothing to partner copy.

A baseline before any work. The keywords, their current positions and their search demand are written down at the start, so there is a baseline to argue with later.
Reporting against that same baseline. Not a fresh set of keywords chosen after the fact because they happened to improve.
The documents are yours.Audits and playbooks are written to be handed to your in-house team or another agency. Nothing is locked to me.
One named expert.Dr. Faiz Azizan does the work. Not a rotating pool of account managers.
The expiry rule ships before any growth work. Every promotion carries its end date in the ledger, and the page drops the offer on that date without anyone remembering to. New pages wait until it works.
I will not promise you position one. No honest SEO provider can, because Google decides rankings. What I commit to is the process above, written down before work starts.
Is this for you
Who this is for, and who it is not for
This is for you if
You list products from many banks or insurers, and your pages are filled from partner data
Partnerships can get partner compliance teams to sign wording in days, not months
Your engineers can add fields and rules to the page templates
This is not for you if
You want thousands of new pages generated from partner copy with nothing added
Sponsored placements must stay unlabelled to protect partner deals
You run a single-product affiliate blog rather than a comparison platform
Is affiliate SEO experience enough for a financial comparison site?
It covers the commercial part: intent, category pages, links. It misses partner approval of wording, BNM disclosure where insurance is sold, and the Moneylenders Act ban on paid introductions. Have them draft one card page and check that partner wording, disclosure and an added comparison all appear.
What does a comparison site get in the first quarter of a search programme?
A template and feed audit, the field ledger and the disclosure components, with the first product template submitted to partners. New pages come later. Fixing the fields every page shares usually moves more rankings than adding pages to a template that is still wrong.

Questions this sector asks
Frequently asked questions
Why does an insurance vertical raise the quote?
A buy button brings Schedule II disclosures, and each insurer's compliance team signs its own block. Cards and loans need partner sign-off too, once per template. Three things set the Custom quote: partner feed count, verticals with a purchase function, and how far the ledger reaches into your systems.
Will this clash with our partners' own SEO?
Sometimes you rank for a partner's product name, and some partners mind. The plan sets a rule per partner: whether you target its branded searches, and what your page must add if you do. Partner compliance teams already approve your wording, so that channel exists.
Can we keep the year in our page titles?
Yes, when the page is updated for that year and shows the update date. On 14 October 2026 the site holding six of nine fixed deposit results carried 2026 in its titles and had updated its promotions post two days earlier. A current year above last year's rates loses trust fast.
How do you measure revenue when partners report approvals weeks later?
By joining the two clocks. Organic clicks to apply buttons are logged with page type and product, then matched to partner approval reports when they arrive. Each monthly report shows last month's clicks and the approvals that have landed since, so search is judged on income.
Will partners object to stricter freshness rules?
They gain from them. A stale rate on your site misleads their applicants and can fall under their duty to approve what intermediaries publish. The ledger gives each partner a named contact and a check date per field.
