Founder project, Faiz Azizan, Founder of Caregiving.my.
Caregiving.my started from zero, no existing traffic, no backlinks, no brand recognition, and no dataset of caregiving providers to draw from. Malaysia's caregiving space (elderly care, special-needs care, home nursing, ambulance services, therapy providers) is fragmented across dozens of independent operators, individual caregivers, small agencies, clinics, and NGOs, with no single reference point families could search against.
That fragmentation was the actual problem to solve, not just "get traffic." A caregiving directory only becomes useful once it exists at the intersection of three variables families actually search by:
- Who the care is for (elderly / special-needs kids / general)
- Where the care is needed (state, city/district)
- What service is needed (private nurse, physiotherapy, private ambulance, counselling, and 15+ other service types)
Multiply those three out and you get hundreds of real search combinations ("caregiver Johor Bahru elderly," "private ambulance Penang," "speech therapy special needs Selangor"), each a query someone in Malaysia would type, and each one Caregiving.my had zero presence for at launch.
The Strategy
1. Programmatic SEO, the care-type × location × service matrix
Rather than writing individual pages by hand, the directory was architected around a combinatorial taxonomy:
- Care-for segment: General / Elderly (Warga Emas) / Special-Needs Kids
- Location: all 15 Malaysian states down to city/district level
- Service category: 20 service types spanning medical (private nurse, dialysis support, community clinic, health screening), logistics (private ambulance, medical ride & escort, appointment companion), therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, paediatric physiotherapy, traditional massage), and support (counselling & mental health, financial support, senior care home, early intervention, special education, individual and agency caregivers)
Each combination generates its own filterable, indexable page, the same pSEO logic used to scale service-area sites, applied here to a three-axis caregiving taxonomy instead of the usual two.
2. Entity SEO, establishing Caregiving.my as the reference entity
Beyond ranking individual pages, the goal was for Caregiving.my itself to become the entity Google (and AI/GEO surfaces) associates with "caregiving directory Malaysia":
- Structured data tying each listing to the correct service and location entities
- Consistent internal linking between related care-for, location, and service pages so the taxonomy reads as one connected knowledge graph rather than isolated landing pages
- Clear category and disclaimer pages establishing the site's positioning as a reference hub, not a service provider itself, an important trust/E-E-A-T signal given the sensitive nature of caregiving decisions
3. Directory architecture, built for both users and search
The live filter system (Care For → State → City → Service) mirrors the exact pSEO page structure underneath it, so the same taxonomy that scales for search also drives real product UX, filtering, an emergency-profile shortcut, and a marketplace/courses layer beyond the core directory. That taxonomy now backs 4,000+ service-provider listings, giving the matrix real data density instead of empty combinatorial pages. The directory explicitly positions itself as CGMY HUB, the caregiving-ecosystem reference hub for Malaysia rather than a lead-gen middleman, which shaped both the disclaimer language and the entity framing.
4. Why this combination mattered
- pSEO alone, without entity structure, produces thin combinatorial pages Google may not trust or index reliably
- Entity SEO alone, without the location × service matrix, has no volume of pages to actually rank
- Directory UX ties both together, the taxonomy isn't just an SEO scaffold, it's the actual navigation a family in Malaysia uses to find care
The Results
| Metric | At Launch | Current |
|---|---|---|
| Service provider listings | 0 | 4,000+ |
| Indexed pSEO pages (location × service × care-type) | 0 | 300+ |
| Service categories covered | 0 | 20 |
| States with dedicated location pages | 0 | 15 |
| Organic keywords ranking (any position) | 0 | 150+ |
| Monthly organic sessions | 0 | 2,400+ |
| Top 3 SERP rankings (long-tail location × service queries) | 0 | 40+ |
Caregiving.my went from zero to a fully structured, entity-first directory spanning all 15 states, 20 service categories, and 4,000+ provider listings, giving a previously fragmented category its first single, searchable reference point, built on a taxonomy that scales for both search engines and the families using it.
