Enterprise SEO for life and general insurers: more policies bought and renewed from search, with your own pages ahead of agents and aggregators
I run enterprise SEO for life and general insurers licensed under the Financial Services Act 2013. Built around the review your pages already face: BNM disclosure and medical repricing rules, PIDM protection statements, and the agents and comparison sites that sell your products beside you.

Where an insurer loses the search for its own products
Repricing letters send policyholders to search, and the news answers first
BNM reported medical payouts of RM6.5 billion from life insurance and family takaful funds in the second half of 2025. When a repricing letter arrives, the policyholder searches. All ten results I checked for medical insurance premium increase malaysia were news and media reports, with no insurer page among them.

Agent and partner pages compete with yours for your own product names
BNM's disclosure policy lets intermediaries use only advertisements the insurer approved, showing their registered name. PIDM's rules bar agents from presenting themselves as PIDM members. Any unapproved page that ranks for your product name still makes a claim about your product, and you answer for it.
My results for car insurance renewal malaysia comparison on 14 October 2026 put six of nine on one aggregator's domain, and a newspaper piece tagged Digital Advertorial promoted the same platform. No insurer page appeared. Each insurer has set its own comprehensive motor premiums since 1 July 2017, so prices differ and buyers compare before they renew.

What brings renewal searches back to your own motor page?
Renewal is a repeat purchase with a known date, and people add comparison, installment, online or takaful to the query. A direct renewal page that explains NCD, sum insured and add-ons with your approved figures gives your own policyholders a reason to renew with you instead of shopping again.
How do you move a policy portal without losing search traffic?
Map every old URL to its new home before launch, keep product, claims and agent locator pages on stable addresses, and move PDS links with them. Insurers merge, rename and replatform, and each move can drop rankings if redirects are left to the end. A crawl before and after launch shows what broke.
How is a direct renewal page built and approved?
One template approved once, then filled per product. Pricing supplies the figures, compliance signs the template and the motor PDS link sits on every page. Plan the build around your review calendar, not a campaign date. If your direct channel offers a commission-free option, aggregators must tell their buyers, so that option deserves its own page.
How it works
Typical agency approach versus Enterprise SEO done properly
Typical: Aggregators treated as the only place motor buyers compare.
Done properly: A direct renewal page with your approved price factors, plus a check on how your plans appear on comparison sites against your own PDS.
Typical: Repricing answered with a letter and a call centre script.
Done properly: The repricing explainer BNM asks for, published as a page that ranks, in both languages, before the letters go out.
Typical: Medical card pages that list benefits only.
Done properly: The co-payment options BNM requires, shown beside the benefits. If you have a sister company or partner among the takaful providers, plan the takaful comparison with them rather than leaving it to comparison sites.
Audit. I crawl product, claims, panel hospital and agent locator pages in both languages. For every brand and product name I note who holds the top results: you, agents, partners, aggregators or news.
Govern. You agree approved wording per product line with compliance and actuarial, and the kit that agents and partners may use.
Build. I build the repricing hub, the motor renewal pages and the first product templates.
Scale. I roll out to life, medical, motor, travel and home products, panel hospital and workshop lists, in both languages.
Report. A monthly pack built on the ownership map shows which product searches moved to your pages, which agents or aggregators still hold them, and the quotes and renewals those pages produced.
Should a conventional insurer answer insurance vs takaful searches?
Yes, carefully. People search insurance vs takaful comparison, and the same buyers type medical card malaysia takaful. A factual page on how the two models differ, written with your takaful partner where you have one, keeps you in the comparison. It should explain the models, not rule on which is better.
Can term life be sold straight from a search landing page?
Yes, inside the disclosure rules. A buyer arriving from search must confirm reading the whole product disclosure sheet before the next step, and must be told when disclosure will be digital only. Build those steps into the purchase template once and every online product inherits them.
Why should claims pages count as acquisition content?
People search at the worst moment and remember who helped. Claim searches arrive by situation: other party, windscreen, accident and claim history. A page for each, with documents, timelines and the next step, serves your own customers and shows prospects how a claim actually works with you.

Original analysis
The insurance version of the head query surfaces no readable page that names BNM, PIDM, an agent rule or medical repricing. Three of the five are UK agency news items about European insurers.
Who explains your medical card to a buyer comparing 30 plans?
Often a comparison site. On 14 October 2026 a guide that says it covers 30 plans from 14 insurers and takaful operators, updated 6 October 2026, explained repricing and co-payment in plain words. Reddit variants show buyers want unpaid opinions too. Your plan page needs that plain explanation, with your own figures and your panel list from private hospitals.
Which of your corporate pages answer best life insurer searches?
The results I checked on 14 October 2026 mixed insurer about pages, a comparison list and generic articles, and one insurer surfaced through its whistleblowing policy page. Searchers land on corporate pages never written for them. Add your licence, years in Malaysia and the claims figures you already publish to those pages, in words a buyer can check.
Will this survive review?
The approval chain, the regulator and what SEO will not promise
Who signs off: Product owner then Digital marketing then Actuarial, for any premium, benefit or illustration then Compliance then Agency or partner management, for content agents and banks reuse.
Regulators that touch your claims: Bank Negara Malaysia, Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM).
Constraints on what you can publish
Before a contract, insurers tell buyers they are licensed under the Financial Services Act 2013 and regulated by BNM (Product Transparency and Disclosure, Schedule II, paragraphs 2.1.1 and 4.1.1).
Plans sold through aggregators show the free-look period and refund policy straight after payment, and the platform may not mark up your premium (Schedule II, paragraph 1).
A product webpage, a marketplace post and a sponsored blog post are advertisements under PIDM's protection rules and carry the membership sign near your name (TIPS Guidelines, paragraphs 8.2 and 8.4).
Your partner bank shows its own PIDM deposit membership and may not present it as cover for your products, so bancassurance wording is agreed with each partner bank (TIPS Guidelines, paragraph 11.8).
What SEO will not promise
A ranking position, or a date for one
A number of quotes, policies or renewals
Legal, actuarial or compliance opinions. Your teams decide what each page may claim
This is SEO governance, not legal advice. Your compliance and legal teams decide what you may claim.
Original analysis
BNM's medical insurance rules already require a repricing page: insurers must point policyholders to their website or a QR code for plain-language information on risk pooling and the effect of dropping cover. Built as an indexed hub in both languages, that page can answer the repricing searches news holds today.
What may your agents publish about your products?
Only what you approved. BNM's disclosure policy says intermediaries use advertisements approved by the insurer, showing their registered name and the insurer they represent. Agents must also say they are your agents. People search agent check, so a page where buyers confirm a genuine agent protects them and you.
What can an investment-linked plan page say about returns?
Past performance covers the latest five years, or the life of the fund if shorter, with a warning that it does not predict the future and the data source stated. Projections are labelled illustrative only. The page must not raise undue expectations from projected returns. A fund performance block kept by your investment team handles both.
Why do complaint searches belong on your own site?
People search complaints with BNM and the ombudsman for financial services in the same breath. Someone typing those has already lost patience. A page that sets out your own complaint steps, your response times and the escalation route gives them a clear path while they are still on your domain.

CHCaregiving.my: Building Malaysia's Caregiving...
4,000+
Provider listings in one structured directory
Why it applies: Insurers publish panel hospital and workshop lists that searchers filter by state and service. Caregiving.my solved that same structured listing problem.
Why it applies: Hospital and clinic choices sit close to medical card decisions. The rebuild turned health searches into visits and enquiries, the same intent hospitalisation pages serve.
Why it applies: Comparison platforms list your plans from the data you supply. OilyPod's visibility rose once its product data was clean and consistent, the discipline a plan data feed needs.
Listings Gemini cited; the one it missed sat in a crowded, mature category
Why it applies: The one listing no assistant cited sat among long-established tools. Medical cards are a crowded category too, so an insurer cannot assume assistants will find its plan pages unprompted.
How do you show expertise on insurance pages Google treats as YMYL?
Name the people. A reviewed-by line with the actuary or medical adviser who checked the page, a review date and links to the product disclosure sheet give readers and AI assistants something to verify. Anonymous benefit pages ask for trust without offering anything to check.

A baseline before any work. The keywords, their current positions and their search demand are written down at the start, so there is a baseline to argue with later.
Reporting against that same baseline. Not a fresh set of keywords chosen after the fact because they happened to improve.
The documents are yours.Audits and playbooks are written to be handed to your in-house team or another agency. Nothing is locked to me.
One named expert.Dr. Faiz Azizan does the work. Not a rotating pool of account managers.
Agents are not left behind. Every change to approved wording goes into the agent kit in the same release, so your agents always hold current text to replace a claim you have withdrawn.
I will not promise you position one. No honest SEO provider can, because Google decides rankings. What I commit to is the process above, written down before work starts.
Is this for you
Who this is for, and who it is not for
This is for you if
Your products sell through agents or bank partners as well as direct, and their pages rank for your product names
Actuarial and compliance prefer approving templates to approving pages one by one
Medical repricing letters have gone out, or will, and your call centre takes the follow-up
This is not for you if
Your book is mostly group or corporate cover placed through brokers, with little retail search behind it
Agency management will not agree what agents may publish
Policy wording and premium tables cannot move out of PDF documents onto web pages
What should an insurer ask an insurance SEO agency?
Three questions sort them quickly: who handles agents ranking for your product names, how premiums and benefits stay in step with actuarial sign-off, and what they know about PIDM protection statements. What they would show you at the end of month one tells you the rest.
How is SEO for a regulated insurer different from SEO elsewhere?
The page is half the work. Every premium, benefit and illustration has an owner who signs it, and the rules decide what must sit beside it. So the unit of work is the reusable block a reviewer signs once. Commercial cover, such as contractors' all risks for site contractors, follows the same method.

Questions this sector asks
Frequently asked questions
Which parts of an insurer site drive the quote?
Three things specific to insurers set the size of the job: the agent kit, the panel hospital and workshop lists, and how many product lines carry illustrations that actuarial must check. Product count alone says little.
Repricing letters go out next quarter. Can the hub be ready?
That depends on your review more than the build. The hub is drafted early from wording you already send to policyholders. Indexing takes its own time after sign-off, so publishing before the letters leave gives searchers a page to find.
Will actuarial and compliance have to review everything?
No, and that is the point of the templates. Actuarial owns a short list of things that change, the figures and illustrations, and those live in blocks it signs. The rest of a plan page is wording compliance has already seen.
Our agents do their own marketing. Why centralise any of it?
Their pages can rank for your product names, and you answer for what they say. An approved kit gives agents accurate pages faster than they could write their own.
How do we know whether agents or aggregators are winning our product searches?
The ownership map answers it each month: for each product name, whether the top results belong to you, an agent, a partner bank, an aggregator or news, and what changed since the first map.
