Enterprise SEO for orthopaedic and rehabilitation groups: more consults and physiotherapy bookings from search, under both the surgeon rules and the therapist rules
I run enterprise SEO for Malaysian orthopaedic centres, rehabilitation groups and hospital bone and joint units. One site that follows the patient from symptom to surgery to recovery, with every page reviewed against the right rulebook.

Where patients with a bad knee or back stop looking at you
One hospital answers the knee replacement cost question and nobody else does
I searched knee replacement surgery cost malaysia private hospital on 22 October 2026 and got ten results. The first was a hospital's own patient Q&A giving a general estimate and what it covers. The other nine came from one medical-travel marketplace. No orthopaedic centre or rehabilitation group answered in its own words.

Hospital groups are bundling surgery and rehabilitation under one roof
On 2 June 2026 Sunway Medical Centre Penang opened an orthopaedic and spine centre with robotic-assisted joint replacement, trauma care, rehabilitation and physiotherapy at one location. A standalone rehabilitation centre has to show patients how it joins up with surgery, or the bundle wins the search.

Knee pain is common in older adults, and the search starts at home
In a study of adults aged 55 and over in Greater Kuala Lumpur, 33.3% reported knee pain (408 of 1,226 people), or 30.8% once weighted. A page that answers the first question, who should I see, reaches those people before a marketplace does.

Why does a hospital Q&A page win knee replacement cost searches?
It answers in plain words, with a general estimate and a list of what it covers, and a marketplace does neither. People add government hospital, robotic and total knee. Any centre can copy the structure: say what the estimate includes and excludes, why it varies and when a written estimate follows.
What should a physiotherapy branch page give a patient?
Hours that are correct today, whether a referral is needed, how a first visit runs and whether home visits exist. Put hours, the therapist's registration and a booking line in plain text on each branch page, and make your Business Profile say the same.
What should a physiotherapy price page say?
What a session includes, how long it runs, whether the assessment is charged separately and the date of the figure. People compare Malaysian prices with other countries. For a course of treatment, state a typical range of visits that is agreed after assessment.
How should a long rehabilitation programme state its cost?
By stage, not as one figure: assessment, the intensive period, then maintenance. Families plan around this. Say who sets the goals, who reviews progress and what happens if the plan changes, because the real cost depends on how the patient recovers.
How it works
Typical agency approach versus Enterprise SEO done properly
Typical: Surgery, spine and physiotherapy on separate sites with separate teams.
Done properly: One domain with a page set that follows the pathway. A patient with a stiff knee meets assessment, exercise-based care, the surgery decision and rehabilitation in order, each step naming its clinician.
Typical: A headline surgery price and a promotional package.
Done properly: What the estimate includes and leaves out, with a date. eye surgery centres meet the same price-first searches, and the rule is the same: scope first, no countdown, estimate after assessment.
Typical: Physiotherapy pages written by marketing, unread by a therapist.
Done properly: A registered physiotherapist signs every therapy page and the registration shows. Claims about services fall under the Allied Health Professions Act, which covers websites.
Audit. I list every surgeon, therapist, branch and condition page and note the claims each makes. Then I check who ranks for knee, spine and sports injury searches, physiotherapy with a town, and panel queries.
Govern. Your department head and senior physiotherapist decide who signs which page. We set two review tracks, one for surgeon and facility content and one for therapist content.
Build. I build the pathway template, the knee and spine estimate pages, and a page for every physiotherapy site.
Scale. I add sports injury, stroke and neurological rehabilitation pages, then insurer panel pages and Malay versions.
Report. A monthly report shows consult bookings, first physiotherapy sessions and the calls search produced for each branch and condition, plus pages waiting in either review track.
What belongs in a joint replacement package page?
What the package covers from admission to the first rehabilitation sessions, what sits outside it and the date. Overseas patients search packages too, and the handover to international patient desks should name the same inclusions. Skip implant brand rankings, because the surgeon chooses the implant for each patient.
How should a sports injury page handle surgery and rehabilitation together?
As one pathway: assessment, the decision for or against surgery, then staged rehabilitation with a named physiotherapist for each stage. Give the surgical estimate and the number of rehabilitation sessions separately, so the patient can compare each part and see what the whole recovery involves.
Search landscape
Where Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Centers demand sits, and what the top results miss
Query cluster
Intent
Typical gap
Surgery with a cost
Weigh what knee, hip, spine or ACL surgery costs
The cost results were one hospital Q&A and nine marketplace pages. People pair knee, hip, ACL and spine surgery with cost
Physiotherapy near me
Find a nearby session, often open now or at home
People add open now, prices and home visit, with towns such as Shah Alam and Klang
Condition to treatment
Learn what to do about a slipped disc, torn ligament or stiff shoulder
People split each condition by treatment and by town, and rarely name a provider
Panel and insurance
Check that physiotherapy or surgery is covered
People pair physiotherapy panel with AIA, Prudential and MiCare, one name at a time
Best surgeon and reviews
Shortlist a surgeon or a rehabilitation clinic
Directories and one hospital page that calls itself best share the results, while MMC guidance calls the best-claim unethical
Original analysis
The head-query results for this sector on 22 October 2026 were hospital news, directories and company listings, not SEO pages. In the cost results, one hospital answered in its own words and nine marketplace pages followed. Any provider that explains what an estimate covers can take that place.
How should a slipped disc page route a patient who may not need surgery?
Start with assessment: who examines, which findings call for imaging and when a surgeon is involved. Then describe exercise-based care and rehabilitation in the physiotherapist's words. A page that sends everyone to surgery would breach both rulebooks and lose the patient's trust.
Will this survive review?
The approval chain, the regulator and what SEO will not promise
Who signs off: Head of the orthopaedic department, for surgical content then Senior physiotherapist or head of rehabilitation, for therapy content then Facility manager, for hours, branches and panel lists then Group marketing then Legal and compliance then Medicine Advertisements Board application, for surgeon and facility promotion.
Regulators that touch your claims: Ministry of Health Malaysia, Medicine Advertisements Board, Malaysian Medical Council, Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council.
Constraints on what you can publish
MOH says advertisements for health services offered by private hospitals and clinics need prior approval from the Medicine Advertisements Board. MMC guidance sends website content on facilities and surgeons to the Board and rules out laudatory remarks.
For physiotherapists and occupational therapists, clause 32 of the Allied Health Professions Bill 2015 bars false claims in any advertisement, article, pamphlet or website, bars misleading representations that induce a purchase, and bars acting against the Council's advertising guidelines. The enacted law is Act 774.
The Board's policy excludes before and after pictures, and statistical claims should rest on Malaysian data where it exists. Recovery photos and outcome percentages stay off promotional pages unless the Board has accepted them.
The Malaysian Physiotherapy Association wrote in July 2026 that it receives a growing number of complaints about misuse of the word physiotherapy. Every therapy page should show the registered practitioner behind the service.
PRP and stem cell injections carry claims the Board and the MMC will read closely. The wording comes from the surgeon and is submitted as written.
What SEO will not promise
A position for any surgery, condition or branch name
A number of consults, operations or physiotherapy sessions sold
A decision by the Board, the MMC or the Allied Health Professions Council. They rule on what is permitted and your clinicians decide what may be said about recovery. I prepare the pages and the submission pack
This is SEO governance, not legal advice. Your compliance and legal teams decide what you may claim.
Original analysis
A provider that offers surgery and rehabilitation answers to two rulebooks. Surgeon and facility content follows MMC guidance and the Board. Therapist content follows the Allied Health Professions Act, whose clause 32 bars false claims on websites and misleading representations. Each page is reviewed once in each track.
Should a centre publish pages on PRP and stem cell knee injections?
Only if the surgeon can source every claim and the Board has seen the wording. People search these treatments with price. Describe what is offered, who performs it and what is not known, without outcome promises. A page nobody can defend is worse than no page.
Can a bone and joint centre call itself an orthopaedic hospital?
Only if the licence matches the description. People search orthopaedic hospital and best orthopaedic hospital, and the results mix hospital bone and joint units with specialist units. Describe the centre by its licensed services and operating theatres, and do not borrow a word that belongs to a licence.

Service types, physiotherapy and occupational therapy among them, in one family-facing directory
Why it applies: The directory lists physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy beside nursing and ambulance services. A rehabilitation group has the same sorting problem: patients think by condition and town, and your site has to answer in that order.
Organic views a month from pages that pair a product with a district
Why it applies: One pattern held across a whole country, with a service paired to each district. A physiotherapy session paired with a town is the same kind of page, and a group needs one for every branch.
Place in the map three-pack earned by a brand-new listing
Why it applies: Each property needed its own profile work. Physiotherapy branches live or die on the map result, and the hours have to be right on the day.
Website conversion rate before and after a clinic's rebuild
Why it applies: This is a single clinic, so read it as a method example, not a group result. Pages built around real service lines with a clear route to book lifted visits into enquiries. Consult and first-session pages need the same clear next step.
Phrasings of one question answered by a single guide page
Why it applies: One guide was written to answer many ways of asking the same thing. A slipped disc or a sore knee is searched in dozens of phrasings, and one pathway page can hold the answer for all of them.
Dead addresses uncovered and repaired on a busy sports publisher
Why it applies: Staff leave, clinics move and pages stay indexed. Sports-injury and surgeon pages that still list departed clinicians send patients to someone who is no longer there.
Can a centre compete for best orthopedic surgeon searches?
Not with the title. Directories and one hospital page that uses the word share these results, and MMC guidance calls such claims unethical for practitioners. Show verifiable facts: registration, subspecialty, hospital affiliations, procedures performed and clinic days. Third parties may call you the best.
Can a rehabilitation centre show patient reviews?
On your Business Profile, where reviews sit in public view and patients can weigh them. On your own advertising pages, the Council's advertising guidelines and the Act's false-claim rule decide, so ask the Council before you quote a patient. Never edit or hide a review.

A baseline before any work. The keywords, their current positions and their search demand are written down at the start, so there is a baseline to argue with later.
Reporting against that same baseline. Not a fresh set of keywords chosen after the fact because they happened to improve.
The documents are yours.Audits and playbooks are written to be handed to your in-house team or another agency. Nothing is locked to me.
One named expert.Dr. Faiz Azizan does the work. Not a rotating pool of account managers.
If a therapy page has no named, registered physiotherapist, or a surgery page makes a recovery claim nobody can source, it stays off the live site and your department head gets a list. The rest of the batch carries on.
I will not promise you position one. No honest SEO provider can, because Google decides rankings. What I commit to is the process above, written down before work starts.
Is this for you
Who this is for, and who it is not for
This is for you if
You run an orthopaedic centre, a hospital bone and joint unit, or a rehabilitation group with two or more sites
Your surgeons and therapists are registered and someone can confirm both lists on request
Both the surgical side and the therapy side will name a signer for the pages that concern them
This is not for you if
You want recovery photographs or percentage success claims on promotional pages
Surgery and physiotherapy will keep separate sites with separate approvals
You are a single physiotherapy room that needs a local listing
Which insurer panels should a physiotherapy page list?
Those with a current agreement at that branch, named one by one. AIA, Prudential and MiCare are searched individually, so each deserves a line. The lists published by insurers with physiotherapy panels may differ from yours, so compare them every quarter and date each list.
What should a rehabilitation group ask a marketing agency before signing?
Ask who reads a physiotherapy page for compliance and what happens to a claim the therapist cannot source. If the agency proposes recovery photographs, success percentages or the word best, it has not read the rules. A good answer names the allied health rules and the Board.
How does enterprise SEO change for a rehabilitation group with many branches?
The branch becomes the unit: one record for hours, therapists and panels, a page generated from it and a Business Profile checked against it. Condition content sits at group level. Your team keeps the campaigns and clinical relationships and gets a template it can run alone.

Questions this sector asks
Frequently asked questions
What decides the quote?
The number of surgeons, therapists and branches, the condition and procedure pages, and the languages. I scope from a page count and quote after that.
Can a surgery page show an estimate?
Yes, as a scope: what is included, what is excluded and the date. In the results I checked, a hospital Q&A page was the only one giving a general estimate with its inclusions. Ask the Board whether figures belong inside the approved format.
Do our physiotherapists need separate sign-off?
Yes. They fall under allied health rules, not the doctors' guideline. A registered physiotherapist reads every therapy page and the registration shows on it, which keeps the site safe if one rulebook changes.
We offer PRP and stem cell knee injections. Do those get pages?
Only in wording the surgeon supplies and signs, and only after the Board question is answered. People do search for these treatments, but a claim nobody can source costs more than the traffic is worth.
Our physiotherapy branches are franchised. Who owns the page?
The brand owns the template and the claims. Each branch owns its hours and practitioners, entered in the shared record. A franchisee cannot add a claim and the brand cannot publish stale hours.
